I have a great passion for the night sky and as a consequence of that I want to share the experience with you. Even now as an experienced night landscape shooter I often ponder the spine tingling and awe inspiring feeling of simply standing under a starry sky and marveling at the sheer majesty of it all. Sometimes I stand for ages taking in the scene, almost unaware of anything else around me. Well, my desire is to share that experience with you. I get great joy from seeing the delight in peoples faces when they first see a nightscape image appear on the rear LCD screen of their camera, an image they never thought they were capable of capturing ... but they can and they do.
By holding workshops, usually for a couple of nights away in a remote location, participants get to enjoy the experience with like minded people from all walks of life and with varying levels of experience. One of the great benefits of our nightscape images workshops is the way in which we learn from each other. I love to show and demonstrate night photography principles but much can be gleaned by simply watching how others go about the task. No two images are the same and that's an amazing part of the journey. Often it's a matter of helping people actually see in their mind what is possible and then letting them create ...!!!
I take a relaxed approach to teaching and give plenty of time for participants to practice the craft and ask for assistance when required. We spend lots of time discussing the concepts and principles needed to produce an outstanding image, but equally we just do it ... go outside and shoot the night landscape. No two events are the same but the rewards are endless.
This workshop is unique and you won't find anything like it offering such extraordinary value for money.

Our venue is a lovely four bedroom (twin share) homestead "Rostrata Country House" set on 100 acres of beautiful farmland away from city lights. There are plenty of great photography subjects all around this charming Central Victorian property.
The package includes two nights accommodation, wonderful home cooked meals, snacks, tea and coffee and all materials necessary to learn the course.
The total package price for my upcoming 2025 workshops will be AUD$1250 per person with a non refundable but transferable deposit of $200 which is required to confirm booking. The remainder will be due no later than 3 weeks prior to the event.
